VCO: USSP1730-LF Features Ultra-Miniature Size Package

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model USSP1730-LF in the L-band. The USSP1730-LF operates from SmallSmall within a tuning voltage range of 1 to 4 Vdc. This remarkable VCO features phase noise of -94dBc/Hz @ 10kHz offset while operating off a 5Vdc supply and typically drawing only 19mA of current.
The low cost USSP1730-LF provides the end user a nominal output power of 3.5dBm into a 50Ω load while operating over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC. This high performing VCO suppresses the second harmonic to better than -25 dBc and delivers a linearity of 1.1:1 across the band. Making the USSP1730-LF even more attractive is its mere size. It comes in Z-COMM’s standard USSP package measuring only 0.2 in. x 0.2 in. x 0.06 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
The USSP1730-LF is well suited for satellite communication applications that require low power consumption as well as low phase noise and extremely small size.
