VCO: High Performance V614ME28-LF Features Excellent Phase Noise for VSAT Systems

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model V614ME28-LF. The V614ME28-LF operates over the frequency range of 1650 to 2410 MHz within 2 to 14V of tuning. This unmatched VCO features a spectrally clean signal of -96 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset while operating off a 12 Vdc supply and drawing 20 mA of current.
The low cost V614ME28-LF is designed to deliver +5.5 dBm of output power into a 50Ω load and covers the frequency band with an average tuning gain of 85 MHz/V. This low noise VCO operates over the industrial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC and features a typical second harmonic suppression of -15 dBc. The V614ME28-LF comes in Z-Comm’s standard MINI-16-L package measuring 0.5 in. x 0.5 in. x 0.13 in. and it is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
The high performance V614ME28-LF is well suited for Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) equipment that requires low phase noise performance.
